Halong Bay

Have you ever been to Halong Bay?
A place where I'd want to take you someday
Where jade-colored waters change colors in the middle of May
And pepper-peaked cliffs reach out to the Milky Way
Pinched with green from St. Patrick's Day
And sails abound like birds about to play
Where you and I bathe and bask in the glorious day
I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray
And I am the Old Man you know from Hemingway
Though I yearn for the fragrance of your bouquet
The hot and humid air hides my Sunshine's rays
Whispered among the gold horizon, "Tu es désirée."
